Poster Pick: Week of August 12, 2012: Adam Hanson
This week’s Poster Pick is by the talented Chicago designer and illustrator Adam Hanson for his upcoming poster art show 18×24. Not only is Adam busy enough designing excellent gig posters, he’s now taken on organizing what is looking like a fantastic gig poster pop-up shop at Chicagos’s Rational Park called 18×24. More about that in a minute. First let’s talk about this poster!
The 18×24 show poster is a beautiful 4 color print, showcasing what I’m envisioning as the ubiquitous Chicago pigeon, but that may be up to interpretation. What I really love about this poster is the test-print style under printing that gives the design additional depth and texture.
So if your in Chicago next weekend (August 25-26) you should definitely come out for the event. The line-up is amazing and I’m sure you’ll have the chance to purchase of these fine show posters as well. Below is all the info on the show as written in the 18×24 Facebook page.
Open August 25-26th, from Noon-to-5pm at Rational Park, 2557 West North Avenue, Chicago, IL
18×24 is a Gig Poster Pop-Up Shop featuring some of the premiere poster artists in the Midwest. Each artist will have a designated booth to exhibit and sell their work, including gig posters, art prints, apparel, etc.
In addition, Chicago-based natural foods producer Upton’s Naturals will be on-site providing free samples to all while supplies last.
18×24 is completely open to the public, free of charge with no ticket or invitation necessary.
The artist lineup includes: Adam Hanson, Baker Prints, Bureau of Print Research and Design, CHema Skandal!, Crosshair Studio, Dead Meat Design, Delicious Design League, Drug Factory Press, Fug Screens, Johnny Sampson, and Screwball Press
